During our recent visit to Uganda, we were confronted with a reality that stirred our hearts—there are still villages and communities in this beautiful country that have never heard the name of Jesus. In some of these remote areas, the gospel has not yet reached, and many people live without the hope that comes from knowing Christ. This realization has fueled a deep conviction within us to bring the good news to these unreached places, where the message of salvation has yet to be shared.
A Calling to the Unreached
As we traveled through Uganda, it became clear to us that many of these villages are far from the reach of traditional mission work. The roads are difficult, and the people often live in isolation, disconnected from the modern world. But despite these challenges, we felt an overwhelming call to bring the gospel to these lost souls—those who have never had the opportunity to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
Our mission in Uganda is twofold: we are focused on hosting crusades in these areas and serving orphanages that care for the most vulnerable children. But above all, our heart’s desire is to bring the gospel to every corner of Uganda, especially to those who have never heard it before. We are committed to preaching the Word of God where it has been silenced, where hearts are hungry for truth, and where the name of Jesus has never been spoken. By partnering with and strengthening the believers we’ve connected with, we aim to faithfully serve and fulfill the Lord’s work—sharing the gospel and meeting the needs of those we encounter.
Crusades: Taking the Gospel Where It’s Never Been Heard
We have been called to host crusades in the most remote villages, where large crowds can gather to hear the gospel for the first time. These events are not just about preaching but about seeing lives transformed by the power of Christ. Many of these villagers have lived their whole lives without ever hearing the story of salvation, but when they do, they are hungry for the truth.
The power of the gospel is alive, and we are seeing it work wonders. People who have lived in darkness for so long are now coming into the light of Christ. It is truly humbling to be a part of this mighty movement, watching lives change before our eyes as we share the hope of eternal life with those who have never had the opportunity to hear it.
Sharing Christ Through Practical Love
We also recently had the opportunity to bless a community in need of clean water. The children at the orphanage, along with local villagers, crafted beautiful necklaces and bracelets. These handmade items were sold to raise funds for restoring the water pipe that serves their community. Thanks to the generosity of those who purchased the jewelry, we were able to raise over $815—far more than we initially hoped for.
The community was blessed not only by the funds raised but also by the opportunity to be part of something bigger than themselves. The necklaces and bracelets they made became symbols of their partnership in bringing clean water to their village, and they were deeply moved by the support and generosity shown. The funds raised went directly to restoring the water system, ensuring that people in the village now have access to clean, safe drinking water.
Scripture for Reflection
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" — Romans 10:14 (NIV)
This verse reminds us of the vital importance of going to the places where the gospel has not yet been preached. It is a sacred responsibility to ensure that every person has the chance to hear about the love of Jesus Christ and the hope of salvation.
A Prayer for Uganda and the Unreached
Father God,We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to share Your gospel in Uganda. We pray for every village and community where Your name has never been heard. We ask that You soften the hearts of the people and prepare the soil for the seeds of the gospel to take root. We pray for the crusades and for every person we will meet, that they may come to know the truth of Your love and the power of salvation in Jesus Christ.
We also lift up the children in the orphanages, that they may feel Your love and protection through the care they receive. Thank You for allowing us to serve these communities and to be a part of bringing the light of Your Word to those in need. Lord, may You continue to guide and strengthen us as we work to bring Your gospel to the unreached places of the world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
